The Shake up

Sometimes (ok, most of the time) your parent's really do know best. My parents and brother came to visit me at my Affleck's shop the other day and they gave my shop the boost it needed to get people to come in the door. Look at my previous post for the photos of the before shots.

And now look:

There's still a fair way to go but I'm enjoying the journey so far. And at the end of my second week I'm happy to say I made a profit, though it was a small (very small) one. But not bad considering two of those 7 days we were closed for Christmas.

Bring on next week and next year!

Can I have your attention please

Those who follow me on Twitter or like my shops on Facebook will have noticed that I have been mentioning a secret project the last few days. Well I can now announce that I have an actual shop! A physical shop that people can come and visit.

I'm based on the third floor of Afflecks Palace in Manchester which is my dream location. For those of you who don't know, Afflecks Palace is a mecca for independent shops that you can literally spend an entire day in. Think of it as an alternative shopping centre.

Today was my first day opening up shop and I'm so excited to what the future holds for Random Quirks. Since I lost my job a month ago, I said I was going to give running my shops a real go so this is definitely a step in the right direction.

I've only just set up but there's still a lot of work to do. Lot's of tweaking and transforming my blank canvas of a space into something special. Fingers crossed.

In the mean time, come visit me! Third floor, next to the cafe.

Treasury Tuesday: Winter Wonderland

Now that it's December it's starting to feel like Christmas is finally beginning for me. It seems like everyone around me has been talking about Christmas for all of November.

Take a look at the treasury here.

Does it feel like Christmas to you yet?
